Meet this month’s Hardscape Hero, Dave Moore of Permanent Paving & Sealing in Midlothian, Virginia.

Dave has over 37 years of experience as a state licensed paving and sealing contractor in Virginia, so he’s seen his share of projects. As an accomplished artist and collector of sculpture, he brings a unique perspective to the design and structure of his jobs.

“For most of the patios I create, I try to incorporate planters, retaining and freestanding walls along with a combination of pavers,” says Dave. Similarly, he encourages his clients to incorporate multiple elements so each patio is a unique statement of the owner’s taste.

To help homeowners create an outdoor living space they can enjoy all year, Dave has found that fire pits and fireplaces can serve as a centerpiece for social gatherings. Beyond just installing the paver component of these fire pits, Dave and his team are constantly looking for ways to organically blend hardscapes with the surroundings.

David's most recent hardscape project incorporated a variety of Eagle Bay pavers and products including a freestanding wall with end caps and a CircleStone pattern as the central focus for a blended, organic look.

Most recently, Dave and his team completed a project in Mosely, VA. Dave’s clients placed their complete confidence in him and his team to make their vision a reality. For this project Dave was really going for the wow factor, and based on his clients’ reaction, he hit the mark and then some.

David’s Hardscape Planning Tips:
“Because of the fairly mild winters in central Virginia, my team and I work year-round, so there’s really no wrong time to plan your hardscape project.” David suggests planning a schedule from when you’d like to start enjoying your patio. David and his team are happy to help with that.

Another great piece of advice from David: “There’s no need to stress! Most homeowners don’t have experience in the construction field and don’t know the process. We establish constant communication throughout the process to ensure our clients are comfortable every step of the way.”
